What is your favorite thing about working at ClearTrust?
I’d say the people and culture of the workplace. When I was first hired, the team welcomed me with open arms, guiding me into the role I have today. The workplace environment has a unique way of making you feel like you belong even before joining, and I felt so grateful to the team for making me feel that I was wanted here in such a short period of time.
What fictional place would you most like to visit?
I would love to go to Wonderland. Ever since first watching it as a kid, I have always wondered what it would be like. To be clear, I am talking about Disney’s Wonderland. I’m not too sure how I’d feel within Tim Burton’s Wonderland, but I’d go at least once for the experience.
How do you relax after a hard day of work?
I try to go on a walk if the weather is nice and the sun hasn't set yet. The Florida weather can be really nice when the breeze blows through the air and it's not too hot. I try to catch as much sunshine as I can throughout the work week. I also like to cook a nice meal, watch my guilty pleasure reality TV shows, and take a nice, hot shower.
What’s something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives?
Go on a cruise. Whether it is three days or a week, take it. There is unlimited food, drinks, and activities for all ages, all while sailing to a tropical paradise or two, so what more could you ask for in a vacation?
What's the farthest you've ever been from home?
The farthest I have been from home is the United Kingdom. Seeing Buckingham Palace in person is an experience I can’t even describe. Also, the hype about fish and chips seriously lives up to it.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance of winning a medal for?
I don’t even know if this is considered an activity but organizing. I had a planner, a whiteboard calendar, and a Google sheet that had all my college assignments, due dates, and times. I should also mention that they were all color coded too, so it’s safe to say that I think I’d at least earn a silver medal in organizing.
What song have you completely memorized?
The real question is: What songs haven’t I memorized? My music taste is so versatile. I know songs ranging from the country genre to 2000’s pop all the way to 80’s rock. I love expanding my music taste, so I am always trying to learn new songs.
What is your favorite charitable cause to support and why?
My favorite is St. Jude. It is a children’s research hospital and all donations go towards the treatment costs that these patients' families would otherwise incur. This means that anytime a child must stay long-term, their food, housing, medical expenses... anything that would cost something is covered by the hospital. My old sorority used to host fundraising events for them, and seeing the impact on those kids is what made this cause become my favorite.
What are some of your personal "rules" that you never break?
My number one rule I try to never break is to treat everyone with kindness. You never know what a person could be going through, and sometimes an act of kindness is what they need to keep them going.
In your group of friends, what role do you play?
I’d say I am a mixture of the therapist and the joker. I am a very witty person, so I tend to lighten the mood when there’s a sense of sadness or negativity. My friends tell me that I give great advice to them. If they listen and it helps them out in their situation, that’s all that matters.
